The studio

We build games
people play together

Mehfil Games is an independent studio. Mehfil Poker is our first title and it is being built now.

Most of the engineering goes into the table itself. Seats and turn order, a host that keeps the game in sync, private rooms, local Wi-Fi discovery, bots that act like opponents instead of a script, reconnecting a player who walked into a lift mid-hand.

We are building that layer once, so the next game is a new set of rules on top of it instead of a new app from scratch. The games we want to make next are the other ones people already play together, rummy and teen patti among them. Nothing beyond Mehfil Poker is announced.

Mehfil Poker

Texas Hold'em for Android

The full rules, opponents that are honest about being bots, and chips that cost nothing and are worth nothing. Four ways to sit down, depending on who you have to play with.

  • Offline tables against bots, no connection needed
  • Private rooms your friends join with a code
  • Local Wi-Fi tables for everyone in the room
  • Public quick play at your own chip level
  • A hand-rank helper on the table while you play

That is the whole slate. When a second game is real enough to show, it appears here first.

How we build

Rules we build to

  • No real money

Chips are virtual. They cannot be bought with cash, cashed out, or traded for prizes. There is no wagering in our games and we are not planning to add any.

  • Bots are labelled bots

Computer opponents carry bot names and their own avatars. You can always tell which seats at the table are software, including the cloud AI opponent.

  • Works offline

Solo play runs offline. Local Wi-Fi tables need no internet at all. A dropped connection should cost you a reconnect, not the hand.

  • Ads are opt-in

The game is free. Its ads are optional videos you choose to watch for a chip refill, and the sellers are listed publicly in app-ads.txt.
